January was full of fun and NO let downs.
I worked out all the little kinks in the driveline, and not everythng is running perfectly. I did open hood and notice the A/C bracket had split. I had a bad vibration (that is now fixed) that I think caused it to break, I had it rewelded really good, and plan to replace it with a nice bracket I found at Old Air in ft. worth, it's a $100 so it will have to happen later, but this bracket is solid now. I don't count that as a let down because it is winter and the belt was off of it anyway at the time.
The first weeked in Jan, while we were working on Bill's panel truck, we took a break and replaced my driver's side window regulator and all the window felts so the window rolls up and down like brand new now!
The second weekend we were over working on Jay's truck, and I readjusted my rockers and they were all just fine, but it was good to know so there are no question marks in my head about that anymore. I used an old valve cover and cut the hole in the top of it so oil wouldn't get everywhere while I worked em. That night, I installed my new dash gauge bezel and it really makes the interior look like it is being restored. Very bright and clean. I didn't paint my gauge needles because I couldn't get them off and I didn't want to break or bend them, it doesn't bother me at all though. That same night, I fixed the glove box door, wired up my horn, and fixed my interior light!
The next weekend on my birthday and Kelly's birthday, (we have b-days one day apart) we traded door panels. He wanted to have his door panels match his stepside which had the standard panels, and he is doing a chrome delete on his truck. I liked his panels because they were vinyl instead of metal, and I like the "upgraded stock look" chrome and all, so we both got what we wanted! I didn't realize at first but the scroll work on the seats match the door panels! So that is an added bonus of making the truck look complete. I still need to pull them back off and repaint them black and shine them up, but I think they look great as they are too.
