71 Stepside : Found this '71 in the paper for $1000 at a car lot. I am sucker for a hard luck case haha but I knew I had a good deal in it. I put my carb on it at the car lot and spent two hours getting it running. I talked him down $100, and he threw in a $150 tow to my house from McKinney to Garland so for $750 here it comes, and there goes my Cutlass... I sold it on Craigs list in one day for $1500! The rear shocks that were on there were too long and were totally bottomed out so it was like the rear end was bolted direct to the frame, very painful to drive, undrivable actually. I replaced them with shorter shocks and ironically the same ones that go on the front, so that is good now. I did alot of cleaning, replaced the header gaskets, intake manifold seal, it had no exhaust at all behind the headers, so I had two Flowmasters that Kelly gave me put on. I painted the engine, and the dash, and tuned it up. That was the first week! ! !
